Tip of the Iceberg

Tip of the Iceberg 02 APRIL, 2018 Assumptions Judgements Because the density of pure ice is less than that of seawater, typically only one ninth of the volume of an iceberg is above water. This led to the expression “tip of the iceberg” for a problem that is only a small manifestation of a larger problem. In many ways this can also represent the small part of who we are and what we experience in interacting with others. People often make assumptions and judgments about others, but with very little information, usually based on our beliefs and past experiences....

Renew for 2018 – Word for the Year

Our Word for 2018 30 JANUARY, 2018 Word for the Year Life 2017 is now a nearly a month behind us and gratefully so, having ended on such a low point.   Calm was a very appropriate word and right to the last day of the year, helping us both to maintain self-control and presence of mind to manage a difficult situation. And so we move to 2017…and...

As the year draws to a close and I look back on the year that was 2016 I realise what an emotional & exhaustingly full year it has been – for so many reasons… The year started with my frustration at not being able to start my course when I wanted (which turned into a blessing in some ways). Hubby spent a large amount of time travelling for work with only 2 months (Feb & Nov) when he was actually home for 4 weeks in a row and it has been a stressful and somewhat frustrating year for him in...
